The Work
Thank you for stopping by! I’m Hannah, a painter located in Seattle, WA. The paintings you’ll see here are my fanciful interpretation of our world. Each piece portrays the landscape of my emotional environment. I liken their style to the moment just before you fall asleep. Illusions within the pieces are seen through a fog, drifting from the confines of reality. There is no particular genre that the collection conforms to. The variety is intended to spark imagination. I strive to make pieces that reflect peoples own creative unique value. Unconventional color pallets and vivid mark making are layered differently, so each piece stands alone in their texture, visual weight and detailing. I hope to attract viewers to their own artistic nature, and connect with others through the conversation piece.
The Artist
"Take your broken heart, make it into art." -Carrie Fisher
Painting allows me to pay homage to experiences I hold dear; where Lingering feelings find relevance in my present and future. It's a game of catch and release to transcend. I began painting abstractly in the memorable summer of 2016.
The prospect of a new life outside of school was an invigorating freedom. The afternoon I fumbled down King Street in Charleston with two massive canvases, evolved to one of the best nights of my life. Beneath the stars and beside the wild kitty living outside my bedroom window; I lit the scattered tiki torches in overgrown backyard and finger painted “The Phoenix” and “Moon Gazer” to follow. I've been in a frenzy ever since, painting my way through life, and I've never looked back.
